Little Village Support Group aims to bring together single women with a common focus on parenting. We welcome women at any stage of their parenting journey including those who are considering parenthood, currently pregnant, new to parenting or an experienced single parent.
Beginning with a positive vision of supported parenting and facilitated by an experienced counsellor from Fertile Ground Health Group, Little Village will provide a place of welcome for single women to share their stories, exchange ideas, establish friendships and develop support networks.
Our facilitator Suzanne Hurley has worked for the past five years as a counsellor at the Royal Women's Hospital and joined FGHG in 2009. Suzanne's work encompasses the broad spectrum of women's experiences from unplanned pregnancy to parenting, fertility challenges and pregnancy loss. Sanctuary is a support group for women undergoing IVF care. A sharing circle in a relaxed and informal setting facilitated by an experienced counsellor from Fertile Ground Health Group.
This group will embrace the emotional aspect of undergoing IVF treatment and provide the opportunity to be with others on a similar journey. Feel supported, make a friend or two, shed a tear and know you are not alone. Come along to share with other women the good, the bad and the unavoidable of the IVF experience.

Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation
Why meditate? Meditation has emerged as one of the most powerful self-help tools for sustaining and regaining good health.
The practice of meditation has been shown to be a gentle yet powerful tool to help reduce anxiety and depression and manage stress, as well as improve concentration and performance, enhance immunity and general health. Stress can also impact on our fertility and studies have shown that women attending fertility clinics and using mind/body techniques such as meditation have a 42-55% conception rate compared to 20% for others. Regular meditation practice facilitates inner contentment, joy and clarity.
This 4 week introductory course is designed to help you start to meditate regularly to help manage stress and improve mental and physical health. You will be introduced to relaxation and meditation techniques, and mindfulness.
Your teacher is Gina Fox who has worked as a Naturopath for 10 years and has seen that many health issues and fertility problems have a stress component. Gina works as a naturopath at Fertile Ground Health Group working primarily with women’s health issues and fertility related health. Gina has completed a meditation teacher training with the widely respected Ian Gawler Foundation.
