Birth Attendant

Having a baby is one of the most natural and joyous experiences of life. Yet it can also feel daunting to say the least. A birth attendant, or doula, is someone who provides emotional and physical support to couples or single women before and during labour. Prior to going into labour your doula will discuss in detail all the factors you need to understand to enhance your birth experience. Understanding your hopes for your birth will help her support you to achieve a satisfying birth experience. Your birth attendant aims to support both you and your partner, so he or she is never left out, rather they most often feel more included and clearer about what they can offer.
