Naturopathy is a system of health care that seeks to understand a person holistically. To do so, your naturopath will look at information about your medical health history but will also be interested in your diet, lifestyle, work, stress, exercise – everything really. A naturopath is a bit like a clinical detective pulling together all the seemingly disparate bits of information and putting it together to make a sensible picture that can be used to determine a unique plan to address your needs. Naturopaths commonly use herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, diet and lifestyle approaches as well as appropriate medical and other testing to understand and treat your condition successfully.

    Biography

    Emily is a degree-qualified naturopath who is passionate about guiding her patients to reconnect to their bodies and regain control of their health. Having navigated her own struggles with digestive, mental and hormonal health issues, Emily understands what it is like to experience those niggling symptoms on a daily basis that keep us feeling off balance.

    Emily’s particular areas of interest include enhancing your energy and vitality, rectifying sleep issues, fine-tuning gut health, and optimising hormonal, thyroid and metabolic health. Emily appreciates the importance of strengthening the relationship between body and mind, and understands that fostering an integrated awareness to tune in to that dual expression can provide strong foundations that keep your health steady. Emily holds a strong belief that your body has an innate ability to heal itself and uses both herbal and nutritional medicine as well as dietary and lifestyle advice to gently and simply support your body to move toward its optimal function.

    Emily regularly integrates self-care practices into her prescriptions by teaching her clients about the importance of mindful eating, movement, meditation and rest. She believes that when we respect our bodies by prioritising self-care vibrant health will follow.

    One of the things Emily loves most about naturopathy is the focus on identifying and treating the underlying cause of presenting symptoms through holistic case taking and investigations. Emily bases her treatment around achievable health goals to produce long-term and sustainable results.

    Emily is currently offering free Naturopathic 10 minute consults to help to get you started towards better health. These sessions are a chance for you to make sure the therapeutic relationship is a great fit and to get clarity about what you want to achieve on your health journey. These sessions are also an opportunity for  you to start with simple, implementable lifestyle/diet changes and tailored supplemental support if required, as well as to initiate any referrals to specialists or blood testing that may be required before proceeding.
