Michelle Murray

Remedial & Pregnancy Massage Therapist

Biography

Michelle is a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist with over a decade of experience in massage and bodywork. She brings both strong clinical skill and lived experience in fertility, pregnancy, and pelvic pain, offering care that is grounded, compassionate, and deeply informed by an understanding of women’s health across life stages.

It was through her own IVF journey and first pregnancy that Michelle recognised the need for more specialised women’s health support within manual therapy. This experience shaped her professional direction and led her to pursue further training, including postgraduate studies in pregnancy and postpartum massage with Pregnancy Massage Australia, as well as specialised pelvic pain and fascial techniques through the Australian Craniofascial Therapy School and ongoing professional development workshops.

Michelle’s evidence-based practice incorporates remedial and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and functional cupping, supported by her relaxation, pregnancy, and postpartum training to create treatments that are both therapeutic and nurturing. Her treatment style blends precise remedial techniques with a calm, attentive presence, supporting pain reduction, functional movement, nervous system regulation, and emotional wellbeing.

Michelle’s clinical interests include:
• Pregnancy preparation and support across all trimesters
• Pelvic, hip, and lower back pain
• Postpartum recovery and pelvic care
• Caesarean healing and womb care
• Postpartum presentations such as carpal tunnel syndrome
• Stress-related tension and nervous system support
• Fluid retention and detoxification support
• Physical pain and restriction in any life stage

She has a strong interest in supporting clients as they prepare for birth, helping to optimise comfort, mobility, body awareness, and psychological ease throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to support the body’s capacity to heal, adapt, and restore balance.

At Fertile Ground, Michelle is closely aligned with the clinic’s integrative, patient-centred model of care. She values collaboration and multidisciplinary practice, and is committed to supporting women and families through all stages of fertility, pregnancy, birth preparation, and postnatal care, with treatments that promote physical comfort, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing.
