Counselling for general health

Why seek counselling for general support?

As we face challenges and changes in life, it is sometimes necessary to find support to explore personal, emotional, psychological and relationship issues that may surface. Counselling can provide the space and support to understand more about yourself, the relationships you value and the issues that may affect them.

Counselling can help you to develop new skills for coping with change or to find new ways of looking at difficult or challenging issues in your life.

How can counselling help?

At Fertile Ground Health Group, our professional counsellors are experienced in supporting and enabling you to deal with a wide range of issues including personal and emotional challenges, family and relationship dynamics, decision making, stress, bereavement and loss. In a supportive and non-judgemental environment, our counsellors will help you to explore issues and their triggers and find solutions or means by which to cope, change behaviour or think differently.

Counselling supports you in finding the time and space to gently allow solutions to emerge. This process can create a new outlook to old problems and enable you to take a new approach with a sense of self-empowerment, when things feel beyond your control.

We are often asked how talking can help. A counsellor brings an unattached perspective that can help you find new insight. Your counsellor often has experience of issues from a range of perspectives that can help to broaden your scope of understanding, resilience, self-compassion, your capacity for coping as well as accepting change. Often, a counsellor is called upon to assist people when things aren’t going well or we are experiencing some kind of difficulty. Using a range of approaches aimed at providing support and reducing distress, a counsellor can help you improve your mental health and wellbeing.
